3 Reasons I Like Twitter and Another Twitter List For You to Consider

Not too long ago I wrote about No. 2 Pen’s social media content creation services, particularly our content writing for Twitter service.  In that post I talked about how everyone is talking about Twitter — even the New York Times.

Since then I’ve noticed that in addition to everyone talking about Twitter, it seems that everyone is making lists about Twitter too. Who knew there was so much to know about a small 140-character microblog post?

To give you an idea of what I’m talking about, here are a just a few examples of these lists I speak of:

• NewYorkology has a list of recent Tweets about NYC museums here.
• ProBlogger has a list of 538 Twitterers that blog here.
• HaveMacWillBlog shares 10 Reasons Why Twitter Rocks here.

So, in honor of this viral-esque Twitter list making, I thought I’d make my own quick list. Here are the three reasons I like Twitter:

1) I make professional contacts on Twitter. I’ve networked with other writers who have helped me with projects or given me advice. I’ve also found clients through Twitter.

2) I don’t have to email my friends links to silly Web sites or good music. Now, I just Tweet and whoever is interested can choose to click.

3) I do market research on Twitter. When I’m dying to know something or am looking for data to back up a hunch I have, all I have to do is put my question out there and wait for a few folks to respond.

Twitter is a great tool. Some say it’s a fad, and I’m inclined to agree. But who cares? For now, Twitter is a great social and business tool.
