I especially like your point in number one about sharing your tagline ideas with friends and colleagues.  Testing is so crucial when developing your marketing message.  Most people think testing is this complicated expensive process.  Literally just asking your closest friends and family what they think is huge start.  This is much more effective than doing nothing.  

Also, great point on &quot;does you tagline define what you do?&quot;  I see so many taglines that tell you absolutely nothing.  For example &quot;What goes around comes around.&quot;  I mean, what the heck?  What industry is that?  A good tagline will tell you instantly what the company does and what it is best at.
