Five Most Important Steps to Creating a Website
No frills here. Only the five most important steps to creating an effective website for your business.
1) The key to a well-received website lies in a professionally designed logo. Logo Design Team* can do it for less than $200. Can’t say it enough: Professional logos are a HUGE part of making the sale.
2) Use the Google AdWords Keyword Tool to research phrases specific to your business. Once you have a list of relevant terms that people search for on the web, you can get started with the site.
3) Use Spork Hosting* to buy a domain name and set up hosting for your website.
4) After you have a URL, choose a website template. Search for tutorials on how to set up the site.
5) You need at least five pages on your site: Home, About, Products/Services, Client Testimonials, Contact/Buy. Take a shot at writing the web content (200-300 words on most pages), but ask someone to proofread the copy before you go live. Make sure to use some of those keywords you found in step two. (And of course, if you don’t want to write the copy, No. 2 Pen offers a website content writing service.)
Before you get too far in the process, do a web search to find other businesses who do the same thing as you. Don’t copy their sites. Instead, find a way to do it better. Once your site is up, take the time to promote it so that it ranks high in the search engines. Stay tuned for five of the most important steps in website promotion.

Thank you for making that point. I have actually been considering making my website without a logo to save money. Now I see that would be a terrible mistake.
